today I spent the day editing photos for the new eco-friendly heart jewelry collection. I'm excited that this collection uses recycled sterling silver from the earth’s supply and 100% natural wool felt from sheep. the jewelry is available online at sweettoothjewelry.etsy.com

what have I been spending my time on?

I've been spending my time designing the sugarlicious collection. excited to finally be able to share some photos with you! in my effort to go green, I have used recycled sterling silver wherever it was possible in the design.

what's involved with designing eco-friendly jewelry?

one of my goals is to create eco-friendly jewelry. I am still researching the best way to go about this... for now I have started by ordering 100% recycled metal, metal that is from the earth's existing supply. I also plan to partner with eco-friendly vendors, though I still have a lot to research in terms of what criteria my vendors and I should meet to become eco-friendly. for now it will be one step at a time...

plastic bottles used every five minutes

chris jordan's photos below depict two million plastic beverage bottles. the number used in the US every FIVE minutes!

the second photo shows actual size bottles, but cropped because the canvas is too large to show here. I am really really moved by his images. After seeing these images I now use a SIGG water bottle, and re-use paper bags whenever I can.
