sugar art

marian bantjes is an amazing canadian typographer who recently contributed to stefan sagmeister's “Things I have learned in my life so far” series. marian used sugar to script the phrase "If I want to explore a new direction professionally, it is helpful to try it out for myself first." writing out the phrase five times, she photographed each version, as well as the destroyed version. check out her website for more images of the project. TYPO features the smiley collection :-)

I was contacted back on january 17, 2007 by fabiola reyes, the design books editor of monsa, a publisher in barcelona spain. she was working on a new book called TYPO, about current typography design in all fields like architecture, fashion, graphic design, furniture, sculpture, etc. she wanted to know if she could publish the smiley collection in the book... well here it is, the book arrived today and I couldn't be happier :-)  I am so excited to be featured with such an amazing group of very talented designers!!

categories of creative talent include:
animation, architecture, art, art/creative direction, cinematography, curating, print and web design, editing, engineering, illustration, information architecture, photography, production, programming, project management, proofreading, public relations, and writing.

if you don't have time to search the site, post a project/job listing. you'll be amazed at all of the skilled people out there. my only advice for the post is be really specific about the project, and the type of person you are looking for. good luck!
