yesterday my EZcube arrived with all kinds of fun accessories! I'm looking forward to trying it. I hope it makes taking photos of jewelry a little easier. I'm not a professional photographer and find jewelry and really any item with a reflective surface pretty tricky to photograph.
the EZcube is a photographic light tent which is supposed to make it super easy to take great photos of small size objects for the web or for print. (I shoot everything high res for print, so it's available for magazines and marketing materials.) I hope this reduces my time photographing so I have more time to design jewelry. the table top studio website has lots of useful products to purchase and tips for: jewelry photography, gem photography, bead photography, watch photography, and silver photography.
In the past I used the cloud dome, but I ultimately found the dome shape too limiting in terms of always shooting from above. it comes with an alternative setting to shoot on an angle, but it was too limiting for the shots I need to take. I may put this on ebay or craigs list as I have the entire kit and this would be great for someone who can use it. contact me if you want to purchase it. it sells for $319 new... I haven't thought of a price yet, so email me with your best offer.
